Who doesn’t love a pizza night?! I love eating a pizza in front of the telly with my loved ones, laughing at whats on the screen and talking about our day. Having a pizza ready-made is such an easy dinner option and can give you loads of time to do other things you enjoy. That’s why I decided to give Aldi’s Vegan Pizza a go! Carry on reading to hear my full review.
In terms of portion size, I thought this was a perfect portion size for 1 on its own or 2 if you were accompanying it with sides. I shared it with my mum plus some salad on the side for our lunch and was pleasantly full afterwards but obviously this depends on person to person and whether you have it lunch or dinner time.
One of my pet peeves with of frozen pizzas is that I find the bases tend to be dry and too crunchy. However, I was so impressed with the base of this pizza! It was light and fluffy in the middle with a nice crust on the outside. It reminded me of Domino’s Italian Style Hase. The sauce packed loads of flavour and was super tasty. There was a good even amount to allow flavour in every bite. I will admit, the jackfruit itself did lack flavour but there were so many other flavours going on, I didn’t mind too much.
The vegan cheese on top melted nicely and had a good cheesy flavour. I would say it was slightly on the sweet side for me but was impressed for a dairy-free alternative. The peppers were a nice topping and plenty on the pizza to feel like there was enough toppings. However, I would have preferred more bbq jackfruit as the pizza did say this was its predominant flavour and topping.
At £1.75, I think this is incredibly good value for money! This is such a quick and easy meal idea and I thought it was a higher quality of oven pizza based on just the base and sauce alone.
I would definitely be interested in trying their other pizzas to see how they compare and see if their toppings are better whilst still having a good base and sauce.
I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on Aldi’s BBQ Jackfruit Pizza and let me know if you have tried it in the comments below. Have a joyful and delicious time!
